UofTMed Inside the Issue: Power in Medicine

Registration for this event is now at maximum capacity. To join the waitlist for the event, please email medicine.rsvp@utoronto.ca with your details and the name of the event.

You’re invited to UofTMed Inside the Issue: Power in Medicine.

Join André Picard, The Globe and Mail health columnist, and leading U of T physicians and researchers as they explore power and influence in medicine.

The power balance is shifting in health care and research. We explore this shift in the upcoming winter issue of UofTMed magazine — look for it in your mailbox at the end of November. Families and patients are becoming more engaged in their care. Students and trainees are speaking up more. Marginalized populations are forging new pathways to power. This dynamic is creating tension within a system and culture built on hierarchy and levels of expertise. How are health care professionals, researchers and educators adapting?

Hear from digital health researcher and family doctor Onil Bhattacharrya, internist and co-lead of U of T’s Office of Indigenous Medical Education Lisa Richardson and third-year family medicine resident Gaibrie Stephen

Dress is business casual. Kindly RSVP online by November 25.
