Permanent Class Executive Nominations

The Permanent Class Executive and Class Leaders are the glue that keep a class together for many years to come. It is comprised of volunteer alumni leaders dedicated to strengthening ties between alumni and the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.

Here are the nominations for the Class of 1T1:

Name: Charley Tianyi Wang
Year: 1T0+PEY
Department: Engineering Science – Computer Option
Description: This man is a friend of everybody. He has built significant friendships with both Canadian students and immigrant students who may not speak much English and generally have distinct interests. While the two groups normally form their own circle of friends, Charley belongs to all of them. He also has a lot of experience representing us through the years.

Name: Rolan Lewis
Year: 1T0 + PEY
Department: Chemical Engineering
Description: I enjoy and have experience organizing events at work and at Skule™, and will ensure that the graduating class of 1T1 (and 1T0 +PEY) will stay well connected for years to come. Along with the other Executives, we will organize successful reunions and non-reunion class events and work to keep our class together beyond graduation. Cheers!

Department: Civil Engineering
Description: Cyrene has been involved in Skule™ activities for many years, and has organized big events such as Cannonball and Gradball, demonstrating her capability for leadership as well as her dedication to Skule spirit. She is widely recognized in the Engineering community, and will be a great asset to the Engineering Alumni.

Description: I believe I'm effective at breaking the ice among various groups and people and bringing everyone together! I will be inclusive and transparent.

Name: Kevin P. Siu
Year: 1T0+PEY
Department: Engineering Science
Description: I have a wide range of Skule™ experiences, ranging from being the President of the Engineering Society, to the leader of the LGMB. I have always tried to keep Skule™ fun, and to remind ourselves that our academics and profession are not the only important things. I have managed large budgets and events in the past, and I hope that the 1T0+PEY/1T1 alumni will help to make our class great.

Department: Industrial
Description: I have relative working experience as I have done my internship at CIBC in the Chief Accounting Department where cash flow is managed. I have learned a systematic approach to manage budgets and keep records. I am a very detailed oriented person, in which my personality will be perfectly suitable for this position. Moreover, I have done a minor in Economics which gives me the sufficient knowledge to better manage the financial status if necessary.

Description: I believe my past experience as VP Communications for the Engineering Society makes me an excellent candidate for the secretary position. My primary role as VP Communications for EngSoc was to record, update and maintain all society records (ByLaws, minutes, and any other corporation documents). I believe that these skills as well as my leadership abilities will be a considerable asset to the Permanent Class Executive and to the 1T0 + PEY and 1T1 Graduating Class.

Description: I'm a completely involved individual in and around Toronto, attending and organizing tons of events and I can help ensure to pass on my great experience to our great class.

Description: Over my 5 years here in Engineering, I have really found my sense of belonging. I have met many who are just like me or who can really understand me (both I thought were impossible at one point). Time it is vital that these connection not be lost in all the years to come and for the sake of myself and my many friends, I would like to be the person to help preserve it.

Description: In the past 5 years (including PEY) at U of T, I have been always involved with academic and non-academic organizations/events such as IEEE, Connections 2008 conference, Impact Entrepreneurship group etc. I believe my past experience has helped me enhance my communication skills and gain exposure to event management, which would be an asset for this role. Therefore, Vote for me!
