This event will showcase the innovative and progressive research currently underway at the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering
from three remarkable professors:
Professor David Sinton, Professor Elham Marzi,
& Professor Timothy Chan.
With professors from different departments sharing their expertise and research, this event will be an exciting display of the diversity of research in U of T Engineering today.
In this talk, Professor David Sinton will address the complexities of achieving net-zero carbon by outlining the challenges of energy storage and persistent CO2 emissions, as well as the need for massive expansions of renewable electricity generation.
Our second guest speaker, Professor Elham Marzi, will then explore how increased access to inclusive global research experiences can help support student success in an increasingly culturally diverse, complex, and interconnected global economy.
Finally, Professor Timothy Chan will conclude our presentation by discussing the impact of using drones in emergency medicine, such as utilizing drone-delivered defibrillators to reduce response time for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims.
