The race is on to develop a vaccine for SARS-Cov-2 as one of the top solutions to defeat the global pandemic. But once a vaccine is ready, who will get first access? How will the distribution work? As the public conversation about COVID-19 changes from one about what public health experts recommend to the tools we need for sustained recovery, the issues surrounding the global distribution of a yet-to-be created vaccine loom large. In addition, shortages of drugs are happening now, and more are anticipated as the global supply chain is stressed.
Joined by a panel of industry experts, Alison Thompson, Associate Professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and expert on pandemic ethics, will lead a discussion on the ethics of how to approach the distribution of and access to a vaccine and other drugs examining both local and global contexts.
