Alumni of UTSC Management and Economics Department (Management or Economics programs) are eligible to apply. The appointments will be made in summer 2023. 1 VP Finance & Administration 1 VP Marketing & Communications 1 VP Alumni & Student Engagement 3 General Directors The responsibilities of the roles are as follows: VP of Finance & Administration Compile and present annual reports to report on the activities of the MAA including budget forecasts and recommendations and financial reports Account reconciliation and reporting in partnership with the department Develop and manage operating budget Prepare and present financial statements for approval Maintain financial records Attend Executive and committee meetings monthly Develop and maintain all personnel files for Executives; develop and update Executive position descriptions to be reflective of the growing needs of the MAA Time Commitment Estimate: approx. 8-10 hours/month VP Marketing & Communications Work with President and Manager of External Relations to develop the MAA marketing and communications strategy, based on vision and objectives Create and edit content for a variety of sources, purposes and audiences (graphic design skills will be an asset, but not required) Contribute to social media presence (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), working closely with the Dept. of Management as required to build community engagement Liaise with UTSCAA to keep informed of and promote upcoming UTSCAA events Attend Executive and committee meetings monthly Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the alumni user experience and alumni brand on the website Share and boost event promotions with your networks to drive attendance to events Time Commitment Estimate: approx. 8-10 hours/month VP Alumni & Student Engagement Actively promote and recruit volunteers to support career outcomes that align to departments and students Actively boost alumni engagement opportunities to expand network Cultivate graduating class (i.e.: Grad Series) and working with the Dept. of Management and student groups to foster the student-to-alumni transition; facilitate MAA presence at departmental/student/campus events Collaborate with the student clubs, co-op office, finance lab and the Department of Management to identify opportunities for alumni involvement Support various portfolios by helping with the promotion of MAA activities in order to increase old and young alumni engagement with the MAA and among members Attend Executive and committee meetings monthly Time Commitment Estimate: approx. 8-10 hours/month General Director Attend monthly MAA meetings Share and boost Management alumni opportunities to drive event attendance and alumni engagement Share and boost event promotions with your networks to drive attendance at alumni events Volunteer 1-2 hours at a minimum of one Management alumni event per year Monthly time commitment: 1-3 hours per month between meeting and MAA work If you have questions about the roles prior to submitting your application please contact Tara O'Leary at tara.oleary@utoronto.ca Applications will be accepted until July 5, 2023.
