UTSCAA Exploring Creativity: In Conversation with Roy Ratnavel

Roy Ratnavel (UTSC BA 1997) has an incredible story as in immigrant. Born in Sri Lanka and Tamil by heritage he became a political prisoner at the age of seventeen. After his miraculous release from prison, he arrived in Canada at the age of eighteen with $50 in his pocket and leaving behind all of his family and friends. The then rose from the mailroom to the executive suite of the country's largest independent asset management company, CI Global Asset Management.

In this event, Roy will share about writing his first book "Prisoner #1056" which shares his incredible journey.

This event is part of the UTSCAA Exploring Creativity series and is supported by the UTSC Alumni Association and sponsored by Manulife and TD Insurance through the Pillar Sponsorship program.

This event is free to attend, however there will be copies of "Prisoner #1056" available for sale after the talk, and Roy will be doing a post talk book signing.
