This past Charter Day on October 12, 2022, Chancellor Nick Saul Vic 9T0 announced an exciting new initiative “Engage with Vic”, to introduce students, from priority communities in the GTA, to Victoria College and to showcase Vic as a possible university destination after high school.
At the Charter Day Luncheon, members of the Victoria University Chancellor’s Council, Principal’s Circle, Heritage Society, and Ivy Society had an opportunity to listen to an engaging conversation between Chancellor Saul and special guests, Dr. Rhonda McEwen, Victoria University’s newly appointed President & Vice-Chancellor, and Tesfai Mengesha, Executive Director, Operations, Success Beyond Limits, on diversity and equitable access to higher education. Vic’s answer to increase access to university education is to ensure students from diverse communities know that Vic is a welcoming space and that we will have the supports in place to ensure their success.
To help support this important work, Chancellor Saul has personally endorsed this initiative and welcomes the Vic community to help fund it as well. The fundraising goal in support of the “Engage with Vic” initiative is $50,000 in expendable funding and will cover the recruitment and outreach costs over four years.
